I came to the Alexander Technique after 25 years’ experience in results-oriented financial service businesses, and I bring the no-nonsense practicality and creative problem-solving that brought success there into helping my pupils now.
My pupils say:
Peter has taught me really effective Alexander strategies for relieving pain…
Learning Alexander Technique with Peter has been a life-enhancing joy and a revelation…
Peter’s remarkable skills in teaching the Alexander Technique have worked wonders to improve my mobility.
I devote time now too to my professional development: I regularly teach at an Alexander Technique teacher training school, I exchange work and ideas with other teachers, I keep up with relevant research, and I attend seminars and workshops.
As a full teaching member of STAT (the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique), I am fully insured and abide by a code of ethics (although I’d abide by the code of ethics anyway, member or not!). I am also a professional member of the charity Back Care.
I live and work in Hampstead, close to Overground, bus, and Tube, and with parking nearby. Hampstead Heath is almost literally a stone’s throw away, convenient if you want to apply Alexander Technique to running or cycling (or any other Heath-friendly activity).
Before becoming an Alexander Technique teacher I had a career in finance at Deutsche Bank and later as Chief Operating Officer of Record plc, a specialist asset management firm.
I am married and have 3 sons aged 22, 20, and 18. My interests beyond Alexander Technique include playing the flute, cycling, running, and, most of all, ballroom dance – in all of which the Alexander Technique is extremely helpful.
